Our Stance
Gambling Should Be Entertainment — Nothing More
The vast majority of Macaubet's players enjoy the platform exactly as it is intended — as a form of leisure, alongside EPL match nights, weekend entertainment, or a bit of live casino excitement after work in Kuala Lumpur or Petaling Jaya. They deposit what they can afford, play for a while, and walk away. That is healthy gambling, and it is what we design the platform to support.
But gambling, like any activity that involves risk, can become problematic for a minority of people. Problem gambling is not a character flaw — it is a recognised condition that can develop in any player, regardless of income level, age (above 21), or how long they have been playing. The earlier it is recognised, the easier it is to address.
Macaubet's responsible gambling programme exists to make it easier — not harder — for players to stay in control. Every tool described on this page is available at no cost to every registered player. None of them require you to close your account to use. And if you ever decide you need a break, our self-exclusion process is simple and will be actioned within 24 hours.
We also enforce our obligations at the platform level — not just when players request help. Age verification is mandatory. Unusual activity patterns are monitored. Staff are trained to identify early signs of problem gambling and to respond appropriately. Responsible gambling is not a PR statement at Macaubet; it is an operational standard.
Minimum Age: 21 Years
No exceptions. Strictly enforced at registration and KYC.
If you are under 21, you may not use this platform under any circumstances. Attempting to register while underage is a violation of our Terms & Conditions and may be referred to the relevant authorities.
Macaubet verifies the age and identity of every player as part of our KYC process. Age verification documents (e.g., Malaysian MyKad, passport) are reviewed before any withdrawal is approved. Accounts found to belong to underage players are permanently closed and funds may be forfeited.
Built Into the Platform
Responsible Gambling Tools Available to Every Player
All of the following tools are available free of charge to every registered Macaubet player. You do not need to explain yourself to use them.
Deposit Limits
Set a daily, weekly, or monthly cap on how much you can deposit into your Macaubet account. Limits take effect immediately when you lower them. Increasing a limit requires a 7-day cooling-off period — giving you time to reconsider. You can set limits at any time from your account dashboard without contacting support.
Loss Limits
Place a cap on your net losses over a defined period (daily, weekly, or monthly). Once your loss limit is reached, further wagering is paused for that period. This tool is especially useful for players who find that their sessions tend to extend beyond their original intention when they are behind.
Session Time Limits
Set a maximum session duration. When you reach the limit you have chosen, the platform will display a prompt and offer you the option to end the session. Time passes quickly during live betting on EPL or Liga Super Malaysia matches — this tool helps you keep track of how long you have actually been playing.
Reality Check Notifications
Enable on-screen reminders at intervals you choose — every 30, 60, or 90 minutes — that display how long your current session has been running and your net position (wins vs. losses) since the session started. A simple prompt can make a significant difference to decision-making.
Temporary Break (Cool-Off Period)
If you want to pause without committing to a full self-exclusion, you can request a temporary break — from 24 hours up to 6 weeks. During a cool-off period, your account is suspended and you cannot deposit, wager, or claim bonuses. Your account and balance are preserved for when your break ends.
Self-Exclusion
A formal, longer-term exclusion from the Macaubet platform. Available for periods of 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, or permanently. Self-exclusion requests are processed within 24 hours of receipt. During self-exclusion, your account cannot be reopened before the exclusion period ends, even if you request it.
Financial Controls
Deposit Limit Options
All deposit limits are denominated in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR / RM). You can set any limit amount above the minimum deposit threshold. There is no minimum limit — you can be as conservative as you like.
Important: When you reduce a deposit limit, the new lower limit takes effect immediately. When you request an increase, a mandatory 7-day waiting period applies before the increase is activated. This cooling-off period is a deliberate safeguard — not an obstacle.
Deposit and loss limits apply across all game types on the platform — casino, live dealer, slots, and sports betting including EPL and Liga Super Malaysia markets. There is no way to bypass a limit by switching game category.
Know the Difference
Warning Signs vs. Healthy Gambling Habits
Most players never experience gambling-related harm. But knowing what to watch for — in yourself or someone you care about — makes a real difference.
Warning Signs of Problem Gambling
Chasing losses: Depositing more money to try to win back what you have already lost, rather than accepting the result and stopping.
Borrowing to gamble: Using credit, borrowing from friends or family, or selling personal items to fund gambling activity.
Losing track of time: Regularly spending far longer playing than originally intended, missing meals, sleep, or important commitments.
Hiding your gambling: Being secretive about how much time or money you are spending, or feeling the need to lie to people close to you.
Emotional dependency: Gambling to escape stress, anxiety, or depression, rather than for entertainment. Feeling restless or irritable when not playing.
Spending beyond your means: Consistently depositing amounts that affect your ability to pay for rent, utilities, food, or other essential expenses in Malaysia.
Signs of Healthy Gambling
You play for fun, not income: You treat your wagering budget like an entertainment expense — equivalent to a movie or dinner out — not as a way to generate profit.
You stick to your budget: You decide in advance how much you are comfortable losing, you do not exceed that amount, and you accept losses as part of the experience.
You can stop at any time: You leave a session when you planned to, regardless of whether you are winning or losing — because you were playing for enjoyment, not to break even.
Gambling is one of many activities: It does not dominate your time, your conversations, or your finances. Other interests, relationships, and responsibilities are equally or more important.
You are open about it: You have no need to hide how much you play or spend. The people close to you know about your recreational gambling and are not concerned.
You use the platform tools: You have deposit limits or session reminders set in your account, and you feel good about having them — because control is comfortable, not restrictive.
Reflect Honestly
A Simple Self-Check
These questions are not a clinical diagnostic tool. They are prompts for honest self-reflection. Read each one carefully and consider your honest answer.
Have you ever spent more money gambling than you originally planned to, and felt uncomfortable about it afterwards?
Have you ever returned to gambling the day after a loss specifically to try to win the money back?
Have you ever felt that you needed to gamble with larger amounts of money in order to feel the same level of excitement as before?
Have you ever felt restless, irritable, or anxious when you tried to cut down or stop gambling?
Has gambling ever caused serious problems with your finances, your relationships, your work, or your health?
Have you ever hidden the extent of your gambling from family or friends, or felt ashamed about your gambling behaviour?
Have you ever gambled with money that was set aside for essential expenses — such as rent, utility bills, or groceries?
Have you ever considered gambling as a way to solve a financial problem, or as a source of income rather than entertainment?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, it does not mean you have a gambling problem — but it does suggest that it may be worth slowing down and using the tools on this page. If you answered "yes" to three or more, we encourage you to contact our support team to activate a deposit limit or take a break. You can also reach out to Talian Kasih 15999 (Malaysia) or reference GamCare for independent support.
How It Works
How to Self-Exclude from Macaubet
Self-exclusion is one of the most effective tools available to players who feel their gambling is getting out of hand. The process at Macaubet is straightforward and does not require you to justify your decision.
Self-exclusion periods available: 6 months, 12 months, 24 months, or permanent exclusion. Your remaining balance will be returned to your registered withdrawal method after the exclusion is processed.
Once self-exclusion is confirmed, it cannot be reversed during the chosen period — even if you request it. This is intentional. The purpose of self-exclusion is to give you a genuine, enforced break.
Contact Macaubet Support
Reach our 24/7 live chat team directly from the platform, or email us at [email protected] (plain text — not a clickable link). State clearly that you wish to request a self-exclusion and your preferred duration.
Identity Verification
Our agent will ask you to confirm your registered email address and one additional piece of account information to verify your identity before proceeding. This step protects against accidental or unauthorised exclusion requests.
Select Your Exclusion Period
Confirm your chosen period — 6 months, 12 months, 24 months, or permanent. If you are unsure, our agent can explain what each option means in practical terms. There is no pressure to select any particular duration.
Exclusion Activated Within 24 Hours
Your account will be suspended and all marketing communications stopped within 24 hours of the confirmed request. Your remaining balance will be returned to your registered payment method (e.g., Touch 'n Go eWallet, DuitNow, or bank account).
Use Support Resources During Your Break
We encourage players to use their exclusion period constructively. Talian Kasih 15999 (Malaysia) provides free counselling. GamCare offers an internationally recognised support framework. Both are text references only — Macaubet has no affiliation with these organisations.

Advice for Friends and Family
Problem gambling affects not just the individual, but everyone around them. If you are concerned about the gambling habits of a family member or close friend in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, Penang, or elsewhere in Malaysia, the following suggestions may help:
- Approach the conversation with concern and empathy rather than anger or ultimatums. The person is more likely to open up if they do not feel judged.
- Focus on specific behaviours you have observed (e.g., financial strain, time spent, mood changes) rather than making general character judgements.
- Encourage them to use a self-exclusion tool or contact a helpline. You can offer to help them make that first contact if they are reluctant.
- Do not provide funds that you know or suspect will be used for gambling. This is a common form of enabling, even when motivated by genuine care.
- Look after your own wellbeing too. Caring for someone with a gambling problem can be emotionally draining. Talian Kasih 15999 also provides support for family members affected by another person's gambling.
The resources listed on this page are provided for informational purposes only. Macaubet does not provide counselling services and is not affiliated with any of the organisations mentioned.
